PALM SPRINGS
A Palm Springs Getaway
Palm Springs is a sunny destination (perfect to go in the winter months) with awesome mid-century architecture, vintages shops, festivals, and outdoor adventures. It’s the perfect girls weekend or couple’s getaway!
Notes: Uber is prevalent, and you won’t need to rent a car unless you’d like to go to Joshua Tree.
Day 1
Get your bearings and explore downtown. Depending on when you get in, you can bop around vintage shops, explore museums, and walk around. If you get in on a Thursday night, Villagefest takes over downtown and you can explore shops and vendors.
Depending on your hotel and proximity to downtown, they might have free bikes to use and the bike lanes are easy to use. We stayed at the Saguaro which was a great midline stay and they had them. When you’re out and about, be sure to grab a date shake. Palm Springs is the number one date producer in the world, and we got many from Nature’s Health Food & Cafe.
Days 2
Start off with a strong breakfast. We loved Farm and Boozehounds, and both have different vibes. If you’re there for a bachelorette party, you can start off with a drag brunch and bop into a peddle bar.
Depending on the goal of your trip, the options are endless. You can go golfing, relax by the pool, or shop some more.
Day 3-4
Get outside, depending on time and if you have a car!
If you have a car – absolutely go to Joshua Tree. It is a really unique place with tons of trails and a beautiful drive.
If you don’t have a car, Tahquitz Canyon is walking distance from downtown and about a 2 mile roundtrip hike. Note that there is an entrance fee and you will need to carry water, but it’s worth it. Go early before it gets at capacity. The Moorton Botanical Garden is also a fantastic way to see local flora that you won’t find in many states.
Another awesome experience is the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. Ride up for views, and if you go in the evening you can grab sunset cocktails or dinner.
Another bar (if you’re lucky enough to get reservations) is Bar Cecil. Some other hot spots for food and drinks include The Thirsty Palms.
